The Sports Science Study Program Faculty of Sports Science, Yogyakarta State University was established in 1999 based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 2951/D/T/2003. While the extension of the study program operational permit was granted by the Chancellor of UNY through the Rector's Decree No. 8291/D/T/KN/2001. The IKOR study program has received three A accreditations from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) since 2006. Currently, the A accreditation for the IKOR study program is granted by the Ministry of Research and Technology of Higher Education based on BAN-PT Decree no. 1183/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/VII/2016, which is valid from 2016 to 2021. UNY IKOR Study Program is also a member and administrator of the Indonesian IKOR Study Program Professional Organization which is already a legal entity in the form of the Indonesian Sports Science Study Program Association (P2SIKI), with the Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number AHU-0017068.AH.01.07. 2007. Curriculum development of the IKOR study program pays attention to several things, namely (1) Changes in the vision and mission of UNY, (2) Industrial revolution era 4.0, (3) 21st-century education, (4) KKNI, (5) Technological and Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK ), (6) World Class University (WCU) and (7) National Curriculum Standards for the IKOR S1 Program from P2SIKI. IKOR Study Program organizes academic education with the aim of producing graduates in the field of sports with non-educational undergraduate qualifications with a Bachelor of Sports degree who are nationalist, tough, honest, responsible and responsive to the demands of sports development. The name of the IKOR Study Program and the graduate degree (S.Or) are in accordance with the nomenclature of the RI Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education Number 257/M/KPT/2017 and the Decree of the Director General of Belmawa Number 46/B/HK/2019. IKOR Study Program graduates have competence as skilled workers in the concentration of Physical Fitness, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Adaptive Physical Activity and Sports Management.
